I’m on a roll!

Posted on February 4th, 2004

It’s only been around two weeks since I’ve last updated my journal! This is quite a drastic change from me in the summer when I was around the once-in-a-month range. A flurry of things will be happening in my life, and I’m really excited for the next little while… And I think that I’ll share with you a little of what’s keeping my on my toes:

1. To no surprise, work is still up here; things are continuing to go exceedingly well there, and I think that I’ve got a good grip on everything there. I really love the work environment, and waking up in the morning has become much less of an annoyance as I spend more and more time there. I can only hope that things stay this way (or improve), and that I can return for a second term!!!

2. Life in res is getting better, as well! After a bit of a lull, I’ve managed to dig in and really get involved again. Aside from being a Don, I’ve become the Chapel worship guy… so I’m the one that guides the worship group each week in performing songs. I’m still the Residence Computing Consultant with far fewer hassles compared to last year, and I’ll probably be the one doing the photo directory again.

I’ve also managed to get away with good friends from Res to go snowboarding… since I joined the school Ski & Snowboard Club, I’ll be abusing my free access to the local bump with chairlifts. I’m also in the midst of throwing together a band for Black Forest, the residence coffee house. I’ll probably end up playing guitar or piano, or maybe both. That’ll be so much fun!!!

3. My faith is still holding up, and I think it received a very nice push forward with the release of the Embassy’s band’s CD, Never Stop Searching. It is such a beautiful album, and I’ve been listening to it on my way to and from work.. Whenever I’m not listening, I’ve often got the songs playing in my head. I’m also on my way to learning how to play the new songs on guitar πŸ™‚ I’m still involved with the Embassy as the announcements guy. I also have a bit of a discussion group in the works, so a few friends and myself will discuss A New Kind of Christian, a book that I hope will rejuvenate my faith. I’m very, very excited about that!!

4. Somewhat related to some of the aforementioned things, I’ve been playing guitar a lot more than before… I do, after all, have a lot more spare time on my hands, being on a work term and all! So that’s been really rewarding for me. Hopefully, I’ll be able to pick up some much-needed supplies this weekend for my guitar!!! And I’ve been reading again!! This time, it’s Lord of the Rings, and I’m nearly done The Two Towers. I can’t wait to finish off the trilogy!!

I think that’s all I’m going to say in this entry… I’ve got to get back to my books and my music!! I pray that all of you are enjoying life as much as I am right now, or find yourselves there soon!!! God bless! πŸ™‚

J
