Love is in the air

Posted on Saturday, October 23rd, 2004

Janna and Brent got married today, and I was lucky enough to have gone to their ceremony! It was at Community Fellowship, which was sorta interesting in its own right: I already thought that the building was odd for a church but to have a wedding in it made it even more strange.. Anyhow, it was a really cool ceremony and I was really happy to have been a part of it. I can’t wait until my camera charges so I can take a peek at the pictures and video that I took! Congratulations to them!! πŸ™‚

During the ceremony, though, I sorta wondered to myself about when I will be up there in Brent’s shoes… I always assumed that I’d get married when I’m around 25 or so (give or take a couple of years), but I suppose that would involve me having a girlfriend first, wouldn’t it? By no means am I going to rush myself into meeting this unwritten deadline that I’ve set for myself, though I wonder if something will happen during these days at university…

What Time Is It?

BED TIME!!!!

Posted on Monday, October 18th, 2004

So… the cat is out of the bag: it was my birthday today. Woopdeedoo? I personally didn’t want to make a big deal out of it, but it seems that I can’t always get my way!! A number of thoughtful people congratulated me for being one day older than I was yesterday (in nicer words, of course), so thanks to them! πŸ™‚

In other news, I’ve been making good progress towards the reinstatement of the Embassy Students’ Association as a club: the Executive had a meeting with Students’ Council yesterday, and they were very pleased with the plan that we have for the future. We made a very progressive action plan and presented it to them, when they were expecting nothing but a war of words between us and the Feds.

I think that the spirit of co-operation spread, and a motion passed (almost unanimously) to have the disciplinary committee of the Students’ Council work with us to rectify our situation as soon as possible. That said, the term-long suspension may be lifted in the near future (as early as Wednesday!), and I’m very excited about that!!

Work is going well, and my next term is looking supremely easy! I have a handful of first-year courses, and a couple of second-year courses to start the catch-up process. I am seriously questioning my attendence for these classes πŸ™‚

Lastly, I just have a few prayer requests. Here they are, in no particular order, and in varying degrees of detail:

1. The ESA’s future, and for those involved in it
2. Continued success and meaning of Chapel at St. Paul’s
3. Priam’s health
4. The Michielsens
5. Spreading of the Word of God to all of the corners of the earth*
6. Our families and friends
7. Ourselves

* Could I have said ‘of’ any more times…?
