Losing Some Pounds

Posted on Wednesday, January 26th, 2005

Well this term has been pretty productive in terms of losing some weight. To be more precise, in terms of putting on more muscle.. (I need to be careful because, if I lost too much, I’d die or something!) Monday was particularly good because I lost a lot of weight from my head… yes, I finally got my hair cut. And it’s so plain vanilla now. Uuuuuuggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. In due time, however, it will all grow back to its old, glorious length, and don’t be surprised to hear that it’s blue again!!

In other news, the ESA, Monday Nights, the Forum, Embassy Staff, Chapel, Meat Club, RCC, class, and the campaign are all going well. Finally! Hopefully we’ll get an ESA event in the next couple of weeks.. I finally got in touch with Megan, the special events contact, and the ball is rolling to a SuperBowl party! Wahoo!

Anyhow, it’s time to hit the sack for me… I have a relatively busy day tomorrow, and it starts early ๐Ÿ˜ฎ God bless!

Weather Woes

Posted on Sunday, January 23rd, 2005

I must say that there’s nothing quite like walking around in -30 degree weather. The feeling of your ears chipping away in the wind, or of your nose petrifying, or of a cold burn on your forehead… yeah, that’s the ticket.

Over the past week, I’ve been lucky enough to watch Napolean Dynamite twice (Monday with Jazzmatazz, and Thursday with the Embassy Staff crew (which, coincidentally, includes Jazzmatazz)), and I am completely hooked! I think that I might buy it in the very near future ๐Ÿ™‚ To be honest, I was surprised that I like it as much as I do; it’s not the type of comedy that I typically watch, but it was pretty genius. Just thinking about it now is making me laugh haha! Also, thanks to the Forum people for sorta ruining the steak scene ๐Ÿ™

Things this term are really getting underway again: ESA is starting to take over my life, Monday nights are happening again (thank God!!!), Chapels are on the go, Meat Club is serving up, the Forum is happening, and I’ve started to do my homework! Oh my life is such a zoo, but I love it!

In the meantime, MSN has been periodically dying on me.. ugggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh. That’s just a tad annoying. I think it’s a sign for me to stop chatting and to head to bed. I need to get up for Elevation tomorrow so.. yeah sounds good to me. Bon nuit, mes amis.

Anything is Possible

.. with God!

Tonight was a very exciting evening for me as it was the first Embassy in two months!! While the struggle on campus is still not over (ridiculous as it is), we’ve found a venue that we can use on a consistent basis and it was so awesome!

Before tonight, I expressed my concern about the possibility of few attendees. The result of this could see the few that we have find less motivation to come, and they’d stop going. Or, so many things could go horribly wrong that the Embassy would not be the Embassy that is used to be.

Well, I could not have been further from the truth: there were hordes of people lined up before the first service, and everyone was pumped about being back!!! It brought a huge wave of relief, and it was like the good ol’ days. There were people that I haven’t seen for such a long time, and it was so awesome to have that positive energy going again. I’m really looking forward to the term ahead!!!!
