I’ve Been Tagged!
Posted on June 11th, 20051. Total number of books I’ve owned.
How can I be expected to answer this question? The number of books that have passed through my hands over all of my years must exceed a bajillion.
Seriously, it’s well into the hundreds.
2. The last book I bought.
Financial Accounting – Third Canadian Edition. Vomit.
The last real book that I bought was The Last Word and the Word After That (three times) by Brian McLaren.
3. The Last Book I read.
Hmm… I think it would have to be The Story We Find Ourselves In. I’m currently plugging through The Last Word… and Blue Like Jazz though.
4. 5 books that mean something to me.
Oi this is going to be tough…
1. A New Kind of Christian: Completely opened my eyes to a very cool perspective on Christianity. In some ways, it put my mind on paper, but it blew me away in many others.
2. The Alchemist: A short little book about personal destiny. It certainly has a lot of religious undertones to it, but the story reads like a kid’s book; I read it in a couple of hours, I think. I really, really enjoyed it.
3. Life of Pi: Not a math book. Again, this book has many levels of meaning, but its story was captivating by itself. I’d like to re-read this in the near future.
4. The Story We Find Ourselves In: While I didn’t really like it the first time I read it, I saw so much more when I read it again. It really inspired some deep thoughts.
5. The Bible: I’m sorta cheesing out on this one because it really does go without saying that this book means something to me. As I try to live out my faith each day, the stories in this book serve to challenge me and bestow wisdom to me.
5. Tag 5 people and request they fill this out on their journals.
OK.
