I Love the Smell of Tar in the Morning

Posted on December 1st, 2005

Who needs napalm, anyways?

So after a grotesquely long day yesterday, I was at St. Paul’s to figure out songs for Christmas chapel (which happens this Sunday at 7pm, for those interested). I figured that I’d get started on my last Calculus assignment after that but, when the time came, my brain was in “off” mode.

The beauty of Wednesday night is that it’s half-price appetizers (and cheap pitchers of Blue Ribbon.. whatever that is) at Mongolian Grill. (There’s also Bomber but, since it was the end-of-term Bomber last night, getting in would have been quite silly by the time I would have went.) I managed to get a small crowd together and off we were!

Unfortunately, the Grill was pretty packed and had only standing room left. So we went just a little further to Kickoff. We were there for a long while, talking about SPUC and sports and whatever, and by the time we got back, I had missed the last ride home πŸ™ So I crashed at St. Paul’s.

9:30am. Headache.. ouch. I felt like vomitting, too. No good. It couldn’t have been because of last night’s drinks; I was nowhere near my limit. Then, it hit me: the repugnant, thick stench of tar. And once I noticed it, I couldn’t shake it… I was screwed! Why St. Paul’s decided to fix the roof now (when residents were still there) is beyond me.

Ugh… just thinking about it makes me want to gag. I’m done.

How late did you guys stay at Kickoff? It’s too bad that I had to wake up the next morning. πŸ™

How come you didn’t notice the tar stench the previous night?

Sorry about the spam. The page wasn’t loading so I kept hitting the Post button…

They weren’t working the night before, so I suppose that they had the tar thing sufficiently covered. Also, the wind could have been blowing in a more convenient direction πŸ˜‰
