Rest In Peace

Posted on Friday, May 13th, 2005

Oh RCA ColorTrak 2000. Your time has come.

I went to turn on the TV today and, much to my dismay (but not my surprise), it didn’t turn on. For seemingly forever (long before my time), the TV had been giving the residents a lot of grief. From giving bad signals to cutting out after an hour of usage, the little junker sure knew how to get one people’s nerves. And now, it has gone to TV heaven.

Time to get a new one! ๐Ÿ˜€

Third Time’s A Charm?

Posted on Friday, May 13th, 2005

I hope so!

On Saturday, I got fed up with my iPod not working again (it has been a number of weeks since I last used it) and called Apple to get it serviced. Thanks to the stupid iPod AppleCare Plan that I bought, I was able to ship it in, have it repaired/replaced, and sent back at no additional cost.

Today, I received a friendly Purolator employee at my door. This is now my third iPod and, if all goes well, my last (until I want to upgrade or something). It better work dang it! I want my music!! ๐Ÿ™

Black Outs and New Buses

Posted on Wednesday, May 11th, 2005

It’s been a slow day today. I woke up naturally at around 11am or so, and I figured that it would be a good idea to start on my assignments. I didn’t get too far until Jasmine logged on, and I proceeded to talk to her for a bit (it’s been a while!).

By the time I get down to it, I realize that the first question stumped me. Dejected, I left it be for a while and moped around the empty apartment. It didn’t take long before I was bored out of my mind, so I returned to the computer and started to plug away. Eventually, I found the answer and plowed ahead. Until I hit the next question.

I realized the extent to which I forgot my linear algebra, and that completely screwed me over. It’s been a bajillion years since my last linear algebra course and, well, my memory doesn’t serve me that long. So what would have been absolutely trivial problems took much longer. Dang it!

I get a call from Ben asking for a hand moving some stuff for a wedding this weekend (not mine… a couple from Elevation are getting married), to which I immediately agreed. Yay for avoiding homework and yay for a free ride to school! Unfortunately, the help only lasted about half an hour, so I would have been stupidly early for class. So I elected to go back home and head to school later.

When ‘later’ came, I arrived to Laurier to find that they did not have power!!! Score one for the good guys! My prof (who likes to teach slower than.. anything) cancelled the class after about 15 minutes of standing around and, just like that, I was headed home on the next bus.

When I got on, I immediately noticed the smell. It was like a new car. I looked around and saw no advertisements along the top, no graffiti behind the seats, no garbage on them, no fingerprints on the windows, and no dust.. anywhere! It was brand spanking new! It was quite an experience since I am so used to 500-year-old buses in Toronto. Too bad this new bus didn’t have any better pickup or speed than the older ones. Oh well.

Anyhow, I should probably get back to the assignment that I have been neglecting. Ta for now!
