Glorious!

Posted on Thursday, March 30th, 2006

I am completely loving this weather. Wow!

For the past few days, it has been between 8 and 16 degrees (it’s currently 16), sunny, and just phenominally glorious outside. While it’s supposed to rain tomorrow, I’m so content that a little bit of rain won’t ruin my spirits. Besides, it’s good for all of the vegetation around here.

Today has been especially awesome. Not only has it been the warmest of the days, so many amazing things have happened (and will happen):

– waking up still happy about last night’s all-I-can-eat sushi feast
– responding to a Google email (!!)
– forging a clearer path towards the end goal of my project at work
– enjoying lunch in the sun while having a great conversation
– continuing the above with milkshakes.. mmm!
– having gelato tonight.. mm!
– (hopefully) catching The Office
– (hopefully) baking more cookies

Let the good times roll ๐Ÿ™‚

Records

Posted on Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

I was checking up on some of my site stats today and this is a record month on a lot of different counts! So far this month, the site has had 215 unique visitors, 1344 visits, 7332 page views, and 13654 hits. Previous records were 210, 1211, 5530, and 12988, respectively. These were achieved between January and February.

I also noticed quite a bit of international activity; lots of hits have been coming from Germany, other European countries, and even Bolivia (love you, Laura!)! The Internet is such an expansive tool and I never thought that I’d be connected to such distant places through it.

Neat stuff.

C is for Cookie

Posted on Tuesday, March 28th, 2006

Having tried my hand at out-of-the-box cupcakes (three times now, and none of them were failures!), I have now graduated to cookies (from scratch)!

My first attempt is going to be Butter Pecan cookies (since I’m partial to sharing with my housemates and since one of these housemates is fasting from chocolate). Otherwise, I think I would have gone for some combination of peanut butter, chocolate, and marshmallows in a dark chocolate cookie. Kinda like smores, I guess. Mmmm… smores… those will have to wait until April ๐Ÿ˜›

I’ll report back on how well the cookies went after I eat dinner and bake!

Update: Success! I think… the cookies aren’t burnt, have the expected consistency, and taste pretty good! They’re not as soft as I’d like, but I’m happy for my first attempt. I only made 12 so I’m not sure how many will leave the house, but I’ll make more. I promise!
