Just A Stone’s Throw Away

Posted on May 7th, 2006

This is the longer post that I promised to write… it’s been just over a week since I moved into my new house and things are starting to settle down. I’ve met the one housemate that will be here this summer (although she has been gone for a week and will be away for the next) and, as if she is able to keep the place clean (as I have spent hours and hours cleaning up the house), I’ll be okay.

The location is pretty good: at Weber and Bridgeport, it’s very close to a Sobey’s, Shopper’s Drug Mart, Zeller’s, Beer Store, M&M’s, and Bulk Barn (among other things). And it’s just a hop and a skip away from Uptown Waterloo. Not too shabby, eh?

The house itself is now pretty clean. Well, two out of the three floors; I don’t really have a reason to go upstairs so I won’t. I re-organized the kitchen so that it makes sense and vacuumed and scrubbed and swept and mopped and lalalalala.

As for my room, it’s pretty big – by far the biggest room in which I have lived – and I’m loving the double bed! And for those of you who are not sure: yes, that is a second, separate entrance to my room; and yes, that is an ensuite. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

The best bit of news (at least, in recent history) is that there is now a barbeque at the house! It’s a loaner for the term, so it’s less of a hassle for me come August/September! πŸ˜€ I’m very much looking forward to using it. Perhaps tomorrow!

Some other notes:

– I talked to Jasmine online the other day for the first time in ages!
– I’m taking six courses this term, and it’s not looking too bad. I’ll post my schedule soon.
– Cristina (Keith’s Cris, if there was any confusion) has been here for the past few days while she does some UWIHDA stuff on campus. It’s nice to have company!
– I finished my first assignment of the term. And it’s due next Friday. Yay keener!
– I despise the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.
– I plan on going to St. Jerome’s with more regularity.
– I am going to bed now.
